Shinta Mani Mustang
Shinta Mani Mustang – A BENSLEY Collection is the remarkable collaboration of Bensley design,
the orchestration of Jason Friedman and the local knowledge and years of hospitality
experience of Namgyal Sherpa , CEO of Sherpa Hospitality, bringing you a fully-inclusive journey
that will be unforgettable and transformative.

Elegantly designed interiors, showcasing the Bensley magic touch, utilise local materials, hand- picked art and rich textiles, creating an ambience of opulence and comfort.

Original architect, Prabal Thapa, set this stone structure into the local landscape, almost
camouflaged on the mountainside. Floor to ceiling windows throughout the property show
breathtaking views of Niligiri Range.

The design incorporates passive solar principles to minimize
energy consumption and extensive insulation throughout reduces heat loss and gain. The
internal courtyard provides shelter from the powerful Jomsom winds and strategically placed
berms and bioswales in the landscaping protect the buildings from the elements.

We are proudly displaying artwork by renowned artist Robert Powell. A friend of Bill’s, Powell
was known for his work across the Himalayas. Shinta Mani Mustang- A BENSLEY Collection will present limited edition
prints of his works of the Mustang region.
Art & Design

Beautiful handmade rugs featured throughout from Mt. Refuge, a boutique design studio
focusing on traditional Tibetan handicrafts and artisan skills.

Exquisite hand-woven blankets and cushions are provided by Altai-Himalaya, a high-end atelier
in Kathmandu founded by Christopher and Enkhe Giercke. The brand specializes in the
traditional Nepali craft of loom weaving by hand, using the finest cashmere from Mongolia,
Enkhe’s home country. Each piece is an individual, sensual work of art.

Dhwoj Gurung is an outdoor painter based in Nepal. He works mainly with acrylics and oils. Gurung has had solo shows of his plein air paintings at the Ramsey Galley, University of North Carolina, USA and Park Gallery, Kathmandu, one of Nepal’s premier contemporary art galleries.
